Dear All and All,

It is observed that after the New Year’s tag by Lozenge Provider on MetaC, there are people who have raised their doubts and are puzzled over who exactly the Meaty Family, or affectionately known as the Meaties, is.

A letter dedication to everyone’s Dear LP on FM Yes933 may seem like a high profile attention grabbing attempt by the Meaty Family. But do be rest assured; it is not supposed to be so. We believe that when doing things, it should simply be because of the good intentions meant. In this case for our dedication letter to Yes933s 弦歌寄意 on 29th January 2008, it was purely, to convey our best wishes to Rui En, and to hear her song on radio once again, for it has been long since any did chance upon it on air.

As for the request for her to tag on MetaC, here is what I wrote briefly in the letter we passed to her on the New Year’s Countdown (The letter was by the way, not just restricted to the Meaties, it was opened to whoever from the MCS Forum in RuiEn’s thread), It would be really nice of you if you would tag at MetaC or leave a message in any of your Fan Sites, as I believe all your fans will be really happy and excited if you do.

RE being a jolly good fellow, tagged.

She tagged a second time on 28th January 2008, under the name LP. She left a puzzling tag message I could not understand, all I knew was, it should imply she did receive the present we deposited with the Hype Records. (Please do not enquire with me how do I know/confirm it’s her. It’s her, confirmed. I have no wish to elaborate on this) It took me one whole day, before someone in Meaty Family recalled a song called “Please Mr Postman”. The Lyrics reconfirmed her identity, and its and indirect way of her showing appreciation, I suppose. I re-emphasis on the word, “I suppose”, for I, nor the other Meaties know RE personally.

As to who exactly the Meaty Family members are, here is the official version. All along, a group of RE’s fans from everywhere in Singapore had been staying in RE’s thread in MCS forum. On this particular day, the users, on fear of breaching the forum’s ruling of going “off-topic”, decided to hold a mass conversation. They hit it well, and arranged for a second conversation the next day. The ease of this group of people to chat about topics, other than RE, prompted their friendship and instantly, they felt there’s a bond present. It is as though, “酒逢知己千杯少，话不投机半句多”. Obviously the Meaties belong to the earlier group. We became friends from then on, the younger Meaties seeking help in studies from the senior Meaties while enjoying our MSN conversations just like anyone would with their friends. We meet up for sports and outings, even the session of making a gift to RE was more of an enjoyable bonding session.

Honestly, at least for me, I like and support RE even more because I love the Meaties!

The Meaty Family is not a Fan’s Clan or group or what-so-ever you call it. We are merely, a group of friends who through RE’s thread in MCS forum, got to know each other. RE was never our ultimate goal; she has always been our bridge, a common link way that’s all.

Frankly, if the Meaties were to attempt to grab any attention, we would have gladly recruited more members, but this is not how Meaties work. Meaties is about friends who understood each other, not fans who want to be together. If any of you thought the Meaty Family had been high profile or desperate in attracting attention, I can firmly tell you that, you are absolutely wrong. Whenever we made know of anything, be it the tags or dedication, it is always meant to share the joy with other RE’s fans. We have no wish to be selfish, and keep the joy and excitement within ourselves. Ask any Meaties, and they can tell you how much the Meaties emphasize on non-elaboration, on the no-go for any attempts to compete or grab attention. Meaties definitely aren’t so!

Ask me to explain Meaties no more, we find it weird among ourselves that the stupid and lame topics that we discuss can only be understood by the Meaties, not even our other friends. This is affinity for friends, as I would see it.

I wish to reiterate again, on behalf on Meaty Family that, the Meaty Family is not a Fans’ Clan. The Meaty Family recognizes and supports the hard effort of the only Official Rui En’s Fan Club, Rui Bu Ke Dang. We thank them for their efforts in attempting to organizing gatherings and securing tickets for the fans.

Lastly, on a lighter note, I just wish to wish our Dear Queen Rui En, Happy Birthday once again.
